| Product Name | Uracil DNA Glycosylase (UDG/UNG), Heat-Labile, Ultra-Clean (1 U/μL) |
| Catalog No. | IVDRM-0275 |
| Description | Heat-labile Uracil DNA Glycosylase (UDG/UNG) catalyzes the hydrolysis of the N-glycosidic bond between the uracil base and the sugar-phosphate backbone of uracil-containing DNA strands, releasing free uracil. Unlike conventional UDG, this heat-labile enzyme can be completely inactivated by incubation at 55 °C for 5 min or 50 °C for 10 min, eliminating the risk of residual activity degrading dU-containing amplification products after inactivation. The enzyme is manufactured with an ultra-clean, low nucleic acid background process that keeps E. coli host DNA carryover extremely low, making it well suited for demanding applications such as pathogen detection. |
| Intended Use | Prevention of PCR/RT-qPCR carryover contamination by degrading dUTP-containing amplicons from previous reactions; ideal for molecular diagnostic reagent development, especially pathogen detection requiring ultra-low nucleic acid background. |
| Principle / Technology | The enzyme excises uracil from uracil-containing DNA by hydrolyzing the N-glycosidic bond linking uracil to the deoxyribose-phosphate backbone, generating abasic sites that block amplification of carryover dU-containing DNA. Its heat-labile nature allows complete thermal inactivation before amplification, so newly synthesized dU-containing products remain intact for downstream analysis. |
