Product Name T4 Gene 32 Protein (gp32, 10 μg/μL)
Catalog No. IVDRM-0272
Description T4 Gene 32 Protein (gp32, 10 μg/μL) is a single-stranded DNA (ssDNA) binding protein encoded by gene 32 of bacteriophage T4 and is essential for T4 phage DNA replication and repair. It binds cooperatively to and stabilizes transiently formed ssDNA regions, playing an important structural role during T4 phage DNA replication. The protein is also widely used to stabilize and label ssDNA regions for electron microscopy studies of intracellular DNA structure. In recombinase polymerase amplification (RPA), gp32 binds the displaced strand generated during the reaction and prevents its further displacement, thereby supporting efficient amplification.
Intended Use Core single-enzyme raw material for recombinase polymerase amplification (RPA); also suitable for stabilizing and labeling ssDNA regions for structural DNA studies.
Principle / Technology In RPA, recombinase-primer filaments invade double-stranded DNA and displace one strand; gp32 is a cooperative ssDNA binding protein that binds and stabilizes the displaced single strand, preventing it from being further displaced or re-annealing, and thereby enabling the strand-displacing polymerase to extend the primers and drive exponential isothermal amplification.
