| Product Name | Snailase |
| Catalog No. | IVDRM-0182 |
| Description | Snailase is a mixed enzyme preparation derived from the crop and digestive tract of snails, containing more than 20 enzymes including cellulase, pectinase, amylase, and protease. It can be used to disrupt yeast cell walls and is therefore widely applied in cell biology and genetic engineering research. It can also serve as a feed additive to improve feed digestibility, and is used in juice clarification, removal of orange segment membranes, and jam production. For yeast cell wall disruption, cells pretreated with thiol compounds are suspended in an isotonic sorbitol solution at pH 5.8-7.2; treatment with 30-40 mg of enzyme per gram of cells at 37°C for 1 hour dissolves the cell wall with a disruption rate of over 90%. |
| Intended Use | Disruption of yeast and fungal cell walls for cell biology and genetic engineering research; also used as a feed additive to improve feed digestibility and in juice clarification, orange segment membrane removal, and jam production. |
| Principle / Technology | A mixed enzyme complex containing more than 20 enzymes (including cellulase, pectinase, amylase, and protease) that synergistically degrade yeast cell wall components. |
| Sample Type | Yeast and fungal cells. |
| Performance Range / Specifications | Contains more than 20 enzymes, including cellulase, pectinase, amylase, and protease. 30-40 mg of enzyme per gram of cells at 37°C for 1 hour dissolves the cell wall, with a disruption rate of over 90%. |
| Specificity | Digests yeast cell walls through the combined action of multiple enzymes, including cellulase, pectinase, amylase, and protease. |
| Reaction Conditions / Protocol | Pretreat yeast cells with thiol compounds, then suspend them in an isotonic sorbitol solution at pH 5.8-7.2. Treat each gram of cells with 30-40 mg of enzyme at 37°C for 1 hour to dissolve the cell wall (disruption rate >90%). |
| Components / Formulation | Mixed enzyme preparation containing more than 20 enzymes, including cellulase, pectinase, amylase, and protease. |
| Storage Conditions | Store at 2-8°C. |
| Shelf Life | 2 years when stored at 2-8°C. |
| Package Specifications | 5 g; 10 g; 500 g; 1 kg |
| Source / Origin | Prepared from the crop and digestive tract of snails |
