Product Name Restriction Enzyme PciI (Recognition Site: 5'-A↓CATGT-3')
Catalog No. IVDRM-0157
Description PciI is a Type IIP restriction endonuclease originally derived from Planococcus citreus and obtained through recombinant expression in E. coli. Used with its dedicated reaction buffer, PciI delivers rapid digestion; it is also compatible with the universal digestion buffer for double digestions, although prolonged incubation may lead to star activity.
Intended Use Rapid restriction digestion of DNA; suitable for double-digest workflows.
Principle / Technology As a Type IIP restriction enzyme, PciI recognizes the palindromic sequence ACATGT and cleaves between A and C on the top strand (and at the symmetric position on the bottom strand) to generate defined ends.
Sample Type DNA substrates (e.g., p615 DNA).
Performance Range / Specifications Concentration: 10 U/μL.
Optimal reaction temperature: 37°C.
One unit (U) completely digests 1 µg of p615 DNA in 1 h at 37°C in a 50 μL reaction.
Rapid digestion with the dedicated buffer; star activity may occur during prolonged incubation.
Specificity Specifically recognizes the palindromic sequence 5'-ACATGT-3' and cleaves at 5'-A↓CATGT-3'.
Reaction Conditions / Protocol 1× Cut Buffer C; incubate at 37°C.
Heat inactivation: 80°C for 20 min.
Components / Formulation PciI restriction enzyme (10 U/μL) with a dedicated 1× Cut Buffer C for rapid digestion.
Storage Conditions Store at -25 to -15°C.
Shelf Life 2 years.
Package Specifications 200 U
