Product Name Restriction Enzyme BspQI (Recognition Site: 5'-GCTCTTC(N)↓-3')
Catalog No. IVDRM-0154
Description BspQI is a Type II restriction endonuclease supplied as a recombinant protein encoded by the BspQI gene from Bacillus sphaericus and expressed in E. coli. It recognizes the sequence 5'-GCTCTTCN1/N4-3' and is mainly used to linearize plasmids for the preparation of linear DNA fragments ending in poly(A/T/G/C) tails, yielding specific cohesive ends.
Intended Use Digestion of plasmids to prepare linearized DNA fragments with poly(A/T/G/C) ends and specific cohesive ends.
Principle / Technology As a Type II restriction enzyme, BspQI recognizes the sequence GCTCTTC and cleaves at fixed positions downstream of the recognition site (1 nt on the top strand and 4 nt on the bottom strand), generating defined cohesive ends.
Sample Type DNA substrates (e.g., plasmid DNA).
Performance Range / Specifications Concentration: 10 U/μL.
Optimal reaction temperature: 50°C.
Specificity Specifically recognizes 5'-GCTCTTC-3' and cleaves downstream of the recognition sequence to produce defined cohesive ends.
