Product Name mRNA Interferase MazF (20 U/μL)
Catalog No. IVDRM-0168
Description MazF is the toxin component of the E. coli toxin-antitoxin system and functions as an ACA-specific endoribonuclease. It cleaves single-stranded RNA at the 5' side of ACA sequences, while leaving double-stranded RNA, double-stranded DNA, and single-stranded DNA intact. This strict sequence and substrate specificity makes MazF a precise tool for targeted mRNA cleavage and RNA analysis.
Intended Use For sequence-specific cleavage of single-stranded RNA at ACA sites, including mRNA cleavage and mRNA interference applications.
Principle / Technology MazF is an endoribonuclease that recognizes the ACA sequence in single-stranded RNA and cleaves the RNA chain at the 5' end of this recognition site.
Performance Range / Specifications Cleavage site: 5'...↓ACA...3'. One unit (U) is defined as the amount of enzyme that completely degrades 1 pmol of the standard substrate (ROX-5'-GATAUACATATCT-eclipse; the underlined region is the RNA sequence) within 10 min at 37°C and pH 7.5.
Specificity ACA-specific cleavage of single-stranded RNA; does not cleave double-stranded RNA, double-stranded DNA, or single-stranded DNA.
Reaction Conditions / Protocol Activity is measured at 37°C and pH 7.5.
Storage Conditions Store at -25°C to -15°C.
Shelf Life 2 years.
Package Specifications 1000 U
Product Form Liquid (solution).
