Product Name Homing Endonuclease I-CeuI (Recognition Site: 5'-TAACTATAACGGTCCTAA↓GGTAGCGAA-3')
Catalog No. IVDRM-0227
Description I-CeuI is a homing endonuclease originally derived from Chlamydomonas eugametos and obtained by recombinant expression and purification from E. coli. It specifically recognizes and cleaves a 27-bp non-palindromic sequence (5'-TAACTATAACGGTCCTAAGGTAGCGAA-3'), generating cohesive ends with a 4-bp 3' overhang. Owing to its exceptionally long recognition site, which occurs only once in approximately 5.6 x 10^17 random bases, I-CeuI offers even higher specificity than I-SceI in gene editing applications.
Intended Use For gene editing, genome engineering, and molecular biology research applications. For research use only.
Principle / Technology Homing endonuclease (meganuclease); sequence-specific cleavage of an ultra-long 27-bp non-palindromic target, generating a 4-bp 3' protruding cohesive end.
Detection Method Cleavage products are typically analyzed by agarose gel electrophoresis.
Sample Type Double-stranded DNA containing the I-CeuI recognition site (e.g., plasmid or genomic DNA substrates).
Specificity No isoschizomers. Recognizes a 27-bp non-palindromic sequence with an estimated natural occurrence of once per ~5.6 x 10^17 random bases, providing extremely high specificity for gene editing.
