Product Name E. coli Uracil-DNA Glycosylase
Catalog No. IEC-HMM-0099
Description An E. coli uracil-DNA glycosylase for selective removal of uracil bases from single- or double-stranded DNA.
Intended Use Control of carryover contamination in PCR and qPCR; removal of uracil from single- or double-stranded DNA.
Principle / Technology The enzyme releases uracil from uracil-containing DNA, creating abasic sites that prevent effective amplification of dU-containing carryover products.
Detection Method Used as a pretreatment enzyme within PCR or qPCR workflows.
Sample Type Single- or double-stranded DNA containing uracil, including dU-containing PCR products.
Performance Range / Specifications Available in 500 U and 5,000 U formats. The enzyme acts on uracil-containing single- and double-stranded DNA but does not efficiently remove uracil from oligonucleotides of six bases or fewer.
Specificity Selective for uracil residues in DNA.
Reaction Conditions / Protocol Add the enzyme to a dUTP-based PCR or qPCR contamination-control workflow and use a protocol appropriate for a non-thermolabile UDG.
Storage Conditions Store at −30 to −15°C.
Package Specifications 500 U; 5,000 U.
Product Form Uracil-DNA glycosylase enzyme solution.
Quality Control Enzymatic activity and contaminating nuclease levels are controlled.
Key Features Effective dU-DNA removal; compatible with single- and double-stranded DNA; suitable for PCR carryover prevention; quality-controlled enzyme preparation.
Source / Origin E. coli uracil-DNA glycosylase.
Shipping Conditions Ship at or below 0°C.
Compatibility Designed for dUTP-containing PCR and qPCR systems requiring enzymatic carryover control.
Application Notes / Precautions This enzyme is not heat-labile. Use an assay program that prevents residual UDG activity from affecting newly synthesized uracil-containing products.

For research use only, not for clinical use.
