Product Name D-Lactate Dehydrogenase Enzyme Specific Activity >=150 U per mg 35 kDa Isoelectric Point 4.5 20 KU
Catalog No. IEC-HMM-0273
Description D-lactate dehydrogenase (D-LDH) is an oxidoreductase enzyme that catalyzes the reversible reduction of pyruvate to D-lactate using NADH as a cofactor, with concomitant oxidation of NADH to NAD+. This reaction produces a measurable change in absorbance at 340 nm, making the enzyme suitable for diagnostic assays. The enzyme is supplied as a white amorphous powder with a specific activity of at least 150 U per mg. It has a molecular weight of 35 kDa and an isoelectric point of 4.5. The product is stable for at least one year when stored at -20°C and is supplied in 20 KU packaging.
Intended Use For research and diagnostic manufacturing use in enzymatic assays requiring pyruvate reduction and NADH oxidation. Not for use in human experiments.
Principle / Technology Oxidoreductase-catalyzed reduction: D-LDH reduces pyruvate to D-lactate while oxidizing NADH to NAD+, producing a measurable decrease in absorbance at 340 nm proportional to substrate concentration.
Detection Method Spectrophotometric assay measuring absorbance change at 340 nm
Storage Conditions Store at -20°C for long-term stability. Stable for at least one year under these conditions.
