| Product Name | Advanced Uracil DNA Glycosylase (UDG/UNG), Heat-Labile, Ultra-Clean (10 U/μL) |
| Catalog No. | IVDRM-0276 |
| Description | Uracil DNA Glycosylase (UDG/UNG) catalyzes the hydrolysis of the N-glycosidic bond between the uracil base and the sugar-phosphate backbone of uracil-containing DNA strands, releasing free uracil. The enzyme acts on both single-stranded and double-stranded DNA containing dU and shows no activity on RNA. This advanced version is produced with an ultra-clean, low nucleic acid background process that minimizes nuclease and host gDNA residuals, meeting the needs of applications with stricter background requirements and higher performance demands, such as fluorescent quantitative PCR systems supporting advance primer-probe premixing. |
| Intended Use | Carryover contamination control and digestion of dU-containing DNA in qPCR/RT-qPCR reagent development, especially fully premixed RT-qPCR systems with pre-mixed primers and probes. |
| Principle / Technology | The enzyme hydrolyzes the N-glycosidic bond between uracil and the deoxyribose-phosphate backbone in dU-containing single- or double-stranded DNA, creating abasic sites that prevent amplification of carryover DNA. It is inactive on RNA and is heat-labile, allowing thermal inactivation prior to amplification. |
