Product Name Acyl-CoA Oxidase Enzyme Specific Activity >=10 U per mg Approximately 70 kDa Isoelectric Point 6.2 10 KU
Catalog No. IEC-HMM-0274
Description Acyl-CoA oxidase is an oxidoreductase enzyme that catalyzes the first step of peroxisomal fatty acid beta-oxidation, converting acyl-CoA to trans-2,3-dehydroacyl-CoA with concomitant reduction of molecular oxygen to hydrogen peroxide. It is a critical component in free fatty acid detection kits. The enzyme is supplied as a pale yellow amorphous powder with a specific activity of at least 10 U per mg. It has an approximate molecular weight of 70 kDa and an isoelectric point of 6.2. The product is stable for at least one year when stored at -20°C and is supplied in 10 KU packaging.
Intended Use For research and diagnostic manufacturing use as a raw material in free fatty acid detection kits. Not for use in human experiments.
Principle / Technology Oxidoreductase-catalyzed acyl-CoA oxidation: the enzyme oxidizes acyl-CoA to trans-2,3-dehydroacyl-CoA while reducing oxygen to hydrogen peroxide, enabling free fatty acid quantification through peroxide detection.
Detection Method Enzymatic assay measuring hydrogen peroxide production
Storage Conditions Store at -20°C for long-term stability. Stable for at least one year under these conditions.
