| Product Name | >=10 U/mg Cholesterol Oxidase for TCHO, HDL-C and LDL-C Assays |
| Catalog No. | IEC-HMM-0165 |
| Description | Alta DiagnoTech cholesterol oxidase is a pale-yellow amorphous enzyme powder for total cholesterol, HDL-C and LDL-C biochemical reagent development. |
| Intended Use | Enzyme raw material for total cholesterol, HDL cholesterol and LDL cholesterol biochemical assay kits. |
| Detection Method | Peroxidase-coupled quinone-dye absorbance assay at 505 nm |
| Performance Range / Specifications | Specific activity >=10 U/mg; assay linear range 75-1,000 U/L with 200-400 U/L recommended. |
| Reaction Conditions / Protocol | Use potassium phosphate reagents at pH 7.0 containing phenol, cholesterol, sodium cholate, BSA, 4-aminoantipyrine and peroxidase. Mix 0.6 mL reagent 1 and 0.6 mL reagent 2, preincubate for 60 seconds at 37 degrees C, add 0.012 mL sample after 4 minutes and measure the one-minute rate at 505 nm. Reprepare reagent 2 if cholesterol precipitation causes turbidity. |
| Storage Conditions | Store at -20 degrees C |
| Shelf Life | At least 1 year at -20 degrees C |
| Product Form | Pale-yellow amorphous powder |
| Activity / Unit Definition | One unit produces 1 umol hydrogen peroxide, equivalent to 0.5 umol quinone dye, per minute under the stated conditions. |
