| Product Name | One-Step Colorimetric Mycoplasma Detection Kit (2G) |
| Catalog No. | RESK-0192 |
| Description | The One-Step Colorimetric Mycoplasma Detection Kit (2G) provides rapid detection of mycoplasma contamination in cell culture based on loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP). Specific primers are designed against the conserved 16S-23S rRNA region of mycoplasma, and cell culture supernatants, serum or other biological materials can be used directly as templates. When mycoplasma is present, the conserved mycoplasma DNA sequences are amplified rapidly and in large amounts, causing the reaction solution to change from violet-blue to sky blue. Results are read by the naked eye without gel electrophoresis. The kit detects 33 mycoplasma species, including the pharmacopoeia-required species M. orale, M. pneumoniae, M. hyorhinis, M. salivarium and M. arginini. Sensitivity reaches 500 copies/uL, and a 100 CFU/mL mycoplasma standard strain is amplified normally with a clear color reaction. This second-generation (2G) kit has been optimized over the previous one-step colorimetric mycoplasma detection kit: the false-positive rate is reduced, result accuracy is improved, and the color contrast between negative and positive reactions is enhanced. After amplification, negative reactions do not turn positive even when left at room temperature for a period of time, so negative/positive interpretation is not affected. |
| Intended Use | Rapid detection of mycoplasma contamination in cell culture supernatants, serum and other biological materials. |
| Principle / Technology | Loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP) using specific primers targeting the conserved 16S-23S rRNA region of mycoplasma, combined with a colorimetric indicator. |
| Detection Method | Colorimetric readout by the naked eye: positive reactions change from violet-blue to sky blue. No gel electrophoresis is required. |
| Sample Type | Cell culture supernatant, serum and other biological materials (used directly as amplification templates). |
| Performance Range / Specifications | Simple and fast: one-step rapid detection with visual results. Broad applicability: cell culture supernatants, serum and other biological materials can be tested directly. Wide detection coverage: detects 33 mycoplasma species, including M. pneumoniae, M. orale, M. hyorhinis, M. salivarium and M. arginini. High sensitivity: sensitivity reaches 500 copies/uL, and a 100 CFU/mL mycoplasma standard strain is amplified normally with a clear color reaction. |
| Sensitivity / LOD | Sensitivity reaches 500 copies/uL; a 100 CFU/mL mycoplasma standard strain is reliably amplified with a visible color reaction. The lower detection limit reaches E2 (10^2) copies/uL. |
| Specificity | Detects 33 mycoplasma species including the pharmacopoeia-required M. pneumoniae, M. orale, M. hyorhinis, M. salivarium and M. arginini. No cross-reactivity with DNA of closely related bacteria or with DNA of common engineered bacteria and cell lines. |
| Reaction Conditions / Protocol | One-step loop-mediated isothermal amplification using the sample directly as template; results are read visually after amplification. Negative reactions remain stable (do not turn positive) when left at room temperature after amplification. |
| Storage Conditions | Store at -25 to -15 °C. Protect the kit from light if it will not be used for an extended period. |
| Shelf Life | 1 year at -25 to -15 °C. |
| Package Specifications | 5 T, 25 T, 100 T |
| Quality Control | Product sensitivity and negative/positive controls meet requirements under heat-accelerated stability, freeze-thaw stability and transport stability testing. |
| Expiration Date / Stability | Stable under heat-accelerated, freeze-thaw and transport stress conditions as verified in durability testing. |
| Regulatory / Compliance | For research use only. |
| Compatibility | Detection is not affected by cell culture media or other sample matrices; cell culture supernatants and serum can be used directly as templates. |
| Application Notes / Precautions | Protect from light during long-term storage. The negative (violet-blue) and positive (sky blue) color contrast is clearly distinguishable. In comparative testing, the kit detected a 100 CFU mycoplasma standard that a competitor product failed to detect. |
For research use only, not for clinical use.
