| Product Name | Organosilicone Surfactant (Plant Spray Adjuvant) |
| Catalog No. | RESK-0598 |
| Description | This product is a high-efficiency organosilicone surfactant and one of the essential reagents for the transformation of Arabidopsis, rapeseed (canola) and other plants. It dramatically reduces the surface tension of water: the surface tension of pure water is 72.4 mN/m, whereas a 0.1% solution of this organosilicone surfactant is approximately 21 mN/m. This allows spray droplets to wet almost any leaf surface with ease and, compared with conventional adjuvants, markedly increases coverage on the target organism. The adjuvant also provides extremely strong resistance to rain wash-off and outstanding penetration capability. Its active ingredients are polyether-modified polydimethylsiloxane and a polyoxyethylene-polyoxypropylene copolymer. |
| Intended Use | Used as a tank-mix spray adjuvant to improve spray coverage, enhance penetration and reduce spray volume, and as a spreading/infiltration aid in Agrobacterium-mediated plant transformation (e.g., floral dip of Arabidopsis and rapeseed). For research use only. |
| Principle / Technology | The polyether-modified silicone backbone lowers the surface tension of aqueous spray solutions to approximately 21 mN/m (0.1% solution), enabling rapid wetting, uniform spreading and cuticular penetration of the droplets on leaf surfaces. |
| Performance Range / Specifications | 1. Superior spreading and diffusion capability. 2. Rapid leaf wetting, with a wetting time of 14.2 s. 3. Locks spray droplets onto the leaf surface without runoff and resists rain wash-off. 4. Drives upward diffusion of the spray solution to increase the covered area. 5. Meets environmental protection requirements. |
| Reaction Conditions / Protocol | This product may only be used as a tank-mix adjuvant. Always add it after the pesticide has been diluted, and finish application within 36 h after the spray mixture is prepared. Use with caution on citrus crops treated with gibberellin when the fruit is freshly marketed. Reference dosages: 1) Field crops: 0.05%-0.1% (v/v) 2) Turf: 0.05%-0.125% (v/v) 3) Trees: 0.1%-0.2% (v/v) |
