| Description | Platelet-responsive proteolytic integrin metallopeptidase 8 (ADAMTS8) is a member of the family of proteins whose genes encode ADAMTS (disintegrases and metalloproteinases with a thromboxane pattern). The preprotein encoded by this gene is proteolytically processed to generate the mature enzyme, which contains two C-terminal TS motifs and disrupts angiogenesis in vivo, making it a novel angiogenesis inhibitor. A number of diseases have been mapped in the vicinity of this gene, most notably lung tumors. |

| Detection Principle | The kit is based on enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) using double antibody sandwich method. To the microtiter wells pre-coated with human platelet reactive protein deintegrin metallopeptidase 8 (ADAMTS8) capture antibody, the sample, standard, biotin-labeled detection antibody, HRP enzyme conjugate are added sequentially, with warming and washing in between, and then the color is developed with the substrate TMB, which is converted to blue color catalyzed by the peroxidase (HRP), and then converted to the final yellow color under the action of acid. The shade of color is positively correlated with human platelet reactive protein deintegrin metallopeptidase 8 (ADAMTS8) in the sample. The absorbance (OD) is measured at 450 nm using an enzyme counter and the concentration of the sample is calculated. |
