| Product Name | Cell Autophagy Detection Kit (MDC Method) |
| Catalog No. | RESK-0187 |
| Description | Autophagy is a process in which cells, upon stimulation, engulf their own cytoplasm or organelles and ultimately degrade the engulfed material within lysosomes. The autophagosome is a round or oval structure enclosed by a double membrane, containing cytoplasm, long-lived proteins, abnormal protein aggregates, damaged or redundant organelles such as mitochondria, rough endoplasmic reticulum and peroxisomes, as well as viruses and bacteria. Monodansylcadaverine (MDC) is a fluorescent dye and an eosinophilic staining agent commonly used as a specific marker to detect autophagosome formation. The detection uses an excitation filter of 355-380 nm and a barrier filter of 512-530 nm. The MDC staining solution is suitable for fluorescent autophagy staining of cultured cells, can be used with FACS to determine the proportion of cells undergoing autophagy, and can be combined with EB for double staining. |
