| Product Name | Uracil DNA Glycosylase (UDG/UNG), Glycerol-Free (1 U/uL) |
| Catalog No. | IVDRM-0567 |
| Description | A glycerol-free format of uracil-DNA glycosylase that catalyses hydrolysis of the N-glycosidic bond between uracil bases and the sugar-phosphate backbone of uracil-containing DNA, releasing free uracil. In PCR workflows a pre-treatment with the enzyme degrades dU-containing template carryover and prevents aerosol contamination of products, and the enzyme also serves as a PCR raw material for UDG-based contamination prevention systems in IVD molecular diagnostics. Inactivation is achieved by heating at 95°C for 5 to 10 minutes, and one unit completely degrades 1 microgram of uracil-containing double stranded DNA in 30 minutes at 25°C |
| Intended Use | Removal of dU-containing PCR product aerosol contamination and of uracil bases from single or double stranded DNA |
| Principle / Technology | Hydrolysis of the N-glycosidic bond of uracil in DNA, releasing free uracil |
| Sample Type | dU-containing carryover products and uracil-containing DNA substrates |
| Specificity | Glycerol-free formulation; inactivated at 95°C for 5 to 10 minutes |
| Reaction Conditions / Protocol | Pre-treat the reaction with the enzyme, then inactivate at 95°C for 5 to 10 minutes before amplification |
| Storage Conditions | 2 to 8°C |
