Product Name Tko RNA Helicase from Thermococcus kodakaraensis (100 ug/mL)
Catalog No. IVDRM-0579
Description Expressed from the TK0306 gene of the thermophilic archaeon Thermococcus kodakaraensis KOD1, Tko RNA Helicase is an ATP-dependent enzyme of the DEAD-box family that specifically unwinds single-stranded stem-loop RNA. It shows only weak activity on double stranded RNA and single stranded DNA and does not act on double stranded RNA substrates carrying 5 prime or 3 prime overhangs. With an optimal temperature of 50°C it works as a tool for melting RNA secondary structure at reduced temperatures, and it requires 1 to 2 mM ATP or dATP together with 2 mM magnesium as cofactor.
Intended Use RNA secondary structure analysis, post-transcriptional regulation studies and improving reverse transcription past stem-loop RNA
