Product Name TelN Protelomerase for Covalently Closed Linear DNA Preparation (5 U/uL)
Catalog No. IVDRM-0420
Description TelN protelomerase originates from bacteriophage N15, where it participates in generating the linear prophage genome. Unlike eukaryotic telomerase it is a pure protein without any RNA component and carries cut ligation activity: after cleaving double stranded DNA at the centre of the 56 bp palindromic telRL site it leaves covalently closed hairpin ends, with the flanking telR and telL arms forming a doggybone shaped molecule. A single enzymatic step therefore converts circular plasmid DNA into a linear covalently closed dumbbell molecule, the core reaction of enzymatic linear DNA synthesis. End closure integrity exceeds 90 percent as assessed by gel electrophoresis after T5 exonuclease treatment.
Intended Use Converting circular plasmid DNA into linear covalently closed DNA for enzymatic linear DNA synthesis
