| Product Name | Taq DNA Polymerase for Routine PCR and TA Cloning |
| Catalog No. | IVDRM-0557 |
| Description | A thermostable recombinant DNA polymerase expressed from Thermus aquaticus with a molecular weight of 94 kDa, Taq DNA Polymerase carries 5 prime to 3 prime polymerase activity and 5 prime to 3 prime exonuclease activity but no 3 prime to 5 prime exonuclease activity. Amplification products carry a 3 prime adenosine overhang and can therefore be used directly for TA cloning. The enzyme suits routine PCR applications such as genotype identification and colony PCR screening, and one unit is defined as the activity incorporating 10 nmol of total nucleotides into acid-insoluble material in 30 minutes at 74°C with activated salmon sperm DNA as template and primer. |
| Intended Use | Routine PCR for genotype identification and colony screening with TA-clonable products |
| Principle / Technology | 5 prime to 3 prime polymerase and exonuclease activities without proofreading, leaving 3 prime adenosine overhangs |
| Sample Type | Genomic DNA templates and bacterial colonies for screening |
| Specificity | 94 kDa thermostable enzyme; products carry 3 prime dA overhangs for direct TA cloning |
| Reaction Conditions / Protocol | Run the PCR programme appropriate to the target; products can be ligated directly into T-vectors |
| Storage Conditions | -25 to -15°C |
| Shelf Life | 2 years |
