Product Name T4 Endonuclease V (T4 PDG) (1 U/uL)
Catalog No. IVDRM-0493
Description T4 Endonuclease V, also known as T4 PDG or pyrimidine dimer glycosylase, is a bifunctional DNA glycosylase that combines DNA N-glycosylase and AP lyase activities. It recognises and binds cis-syn cyclobutane pyrimidine dimers formed by ultraviolet irradiation, cleaves the glycosidic bond on the 5 prime side of the dimer to release the dimer and leave an AP site, and then uses its endonuclease activity to cut the phosphodiester bond at the AP site, creating a single nucleotide gap in the DNA strand. This makes it useful for DNA repair and damage studies and for damage detection in comet assays. Supplied at 1 U/uL, the preparation is at least 95% pure by SDS-PAGE, carries no non specific DNase residue and holds host genomic DNA below 0.05 copies per U.
Intended Use DNA repair and damage research, UV induced damage detection and comet assays
