| Product Name | SwaI Restriction Endonuclease (10 U/uL) |
| Catalog No. | IVDRM-0595 |
| Description | A type IIP restriction enzyme originally from Staphylococcus warneri and produced recombinantly in E. coli, SwaI recognises the eight base palindromic sequence ATTTAAAT and forms blunt ends, which suits molecular cloning and genotyping work. It is supplied at 10 U/uL and runs in its dedicated Cut Buffer C at 37°C, with heat inactivation at 80°C for 20 minutes, and it is not compatible with the general rapid digestion buffer. SmiI is an isoschizomer, methylation of the substrate has no effect on cleavage, and one unit completely digests 1 microgram of lambda DNA in a 50 uL reaction in one hour at 37°C. |
| Intended Use | Molecular cloning and genotyping through blunt-end cleavage at an eight base site |
| Principle / Technology | Cleavage of the eight base palindrome ATTTAAAT to produce blunt ends |
| Sample Type | Plasmid and genomic DNA for cloning and genotyping |
| Specificity | Isoschizomer SmiI; substrate methylation has no effect; incompatible with the general rapid buffer |
| Reaction Conditions / Protocol | Digest in 1x Cut Buffer C at 37°C and heat inactivate at 80°C for 20 minutes |
| Storage Conditions | -25 to -15°C |
| Shelf Life | 2 years |
| Package Specifications | 1000 U |
| Key Features | Eight base recognition gives rare cutting; blunt-ended products suit cloning |
| Concentration | 10 U/uL |
| Activity / Unit Definition | 1 U completely digests 1 ug of lambda DNA in 50 uL in 1 hour at 37°C |
| Recommended Buffer System | 1x Cut Buffer C |
