Product Name SP6 RNA Polymerase for In Vitro Transcription (20 U/uL)
Catalog No. IVDRM-0367
Description Phage SP6 RNA polymerase is a DNA-dependent RNA polymerase with high specificity for the SP6 phage promoter. It catalyses NTP incorporation downstream of an SP6 promoter on single-stranded or double-stranded DNA templates to synthesise RNA complementary to the template strand. The enzyme accepts modified NTPs such as biotin, digoxigenin or fluorophore labelled nucleotides, extending its use to labelled RNA probes and biotechnology applications. The recombinant enzyme is expressed in E. coli carrying the SP6 RNA polymerase gene of Salmonella typhimurium.
Intended Use RNA probe preparation with radioactive or non-isotopic labels; mRNA preparation for in vitro translation and microinjection; guide RNA preparation; RNA vaccine synthesis; RNA structure, processing and catalysis research; antisense RNA synthesis for gene expression regulation
