| Product Name | Shrimp Alkaline Phosphatase, Heat-Labile (SAP, 1 U/uL) |
| Catalog No. | IVDRM-0458 |
| Description | Expressed in Pichia pastoris from the Arctic shrimp Pandalus alkaline phosphatase gene, this enzyme removes 5 prime phosphate groups from DNA and RNA ends, whether cohesive or blunt, and hydrolyses nearly all phosphomonoesters without attacking phosphodiester or phosphotriester bonds. Its defining advantage is rapid heat lability: 5 minutes at 65°C irreversibly abolishes activity, letting dephosphorylation and subsequent steps proceed in the same tube. Beyond preventing vector self ligation and preparing 5 prime end labeling templates, SAP degrades residual dNTPs in PCR products to ready them for sequencing and SNP analysis. The preparation exceeds 95% purity and is verified free of RNase and DNase contamination. |
