Product Name RecJ Exonuclease (30 U/uL)
Catalog No. IVDRM-0568
Description From the Escherichia coli K12 strain, RecJ Exonuclease is a magnesium-dependent exonuclease that specifically recognises and acts on the 5 prime ends of single stranded DNA, equivalent in enzymatic function to commercially available RecJf Exonuclease. It degrades linear single stranded DNA in the 5 prime to 3 prime direction, trims double stranded DNA 5 prime overhangs longer than six nucleotides rather than simply producing flush ends, acts with similar efficiency on single stranded DNA carrying either a 5 prime phosphate or a 5 prime hydroxyl, and shows no activity on RNA. The enzyme is at least 95% pure, has low nickase and RNase residue and is fully inactivated by heating at 65°C for 20 minutes, which suits purity-critical downstream applications.
Intended Use Degradation of single stranded DNA and trimming of 5 prime overhangs on double stranded DNA
Principle / Technology Magnesium dependent 5 prime to 3 prime exonucleolytic digestion specific for single stranded DNA
