| Product Name | Proteinase K Solution, RNase-Free and DNase-Free (20 mg/mL) |
| Catalog No. | IVDRM-0551 |
| Description | A broad-spectrum serine protease of about 29.3 kDa produced from a recombinant yeast strain, Proteinase K cleaves peptide bonds at the carboxyl side of aliphatic and aromatic amino acids and is supplied free of RNase and DNase. It is widely used to prepare chromosomal DNA for pulsed field gel electrophoresis, in protein blotting and to remove nucleases from DNA and RNA preparations, and denaturants such as 1% SDS raise its activity. The enzyme works across pH 4.0 to 12.0 with an optimum of 7.5 to 9.0, and common working concentrations of 50 to 100 micrograms per millilitre are chosen according to buffer composition, SDS, urea, pH and temperature. |
