| Product Name | Proteinase K Solution for mNGS, Low-Residual (20 mg/mL) |
| Catalog No. | IVDRM-0550 |
| Description | A broad-spectrum serine protease of about 29.3 kDa that cleaves peptide bonds at the carboxyl side of aliphatic and aromatic amino acids, this Proteinase K solution is produced under a low background residue process so that carry-over from background organisms stays minimal and downstream detection accuracy is protected, which suits metagenomic sequencing workflows. Activity is at least 20 mg per mL with specific activity of at least 800 U per mL, active from pH 4.5 to 12.5 with an optimum of 7.0 to 12.0, and digestion runs for one hour at 37 to 65°C with 65°C recommended, inactivated by a PMSF or DFIP inhibitor. Denaturants such as 1% SDS raise its activity, and the common working concentration is 50 to 100 micrograms per millilitre. |
