Description A chemically defined reduced-serum medium formulation that supports growth of a variety of cell types at significantly lower serum concentrations, specifically optimized for cationic lipid-mediated transfection procedures.
Intended Use Serum-reduced culture for transfection experiments using cationic lipid reagents; compatible with Lipofectamine and other lipid-based nucleic acid delivery systems where serum proteins can interfere with complex formation.
Principle / Technology GlutaMAX dipeptide (L-alanyl-L-glutamine) provides stable glutamine source without toxic ammonia accumulation; insulin, transferrin, and defined supplements replace serum growth factors; reduced protein content minimizes interference with lipid-nucleic acid complexes.
