Description Alta DiagnoTech nonporous spherical silica microspheres combine a hydrophilic, readily dispersed surface with useful optical and mechanical properties. Unmodified and functionalized versions support nucleic-acid separation, cell separation, immunoassays and general particle research.
Intended Use Nucleic-acid separation, cell separation, immunoassays and other research applications requiring nonporous silica particles.

Performance Range / Specifications The technical table states a general particle range of 0.5-6.0 µm. Listed unmodified sizes are 0.10, 0.30, 0.50, 1.0, 2.0, 3.0 and 5.0 µm. Solids are 10% w/v for unmodified beads, 5.0% w/v for carboxyl or amino beads, and 1.0% w/v for streptavidin beads; density 2.0 g/cm³; refractive index approximately 1.43-1.46 at 589 nm.
