| Product Name | MuA Transposase (0.22 ug/uL) |
| Catalog No. | IVDRM-0521 |
| Description | Encoded by the MuA gene of bacteriophage Mu, this transposase catalyses insertion of phage Mu DNA into a host genome as well as excision and relocation to other positions. Working as a tetramer, MuA binds both ends of the transposon to form a stable transpososome, cuts the donor DNA inside this complex and inserts it into the target DNA through a cut and paste mechanism that integrates the chosen DNA fragment into the genome of interest. Compared with the widely used Tn5 transposase, MuA accepts large DNA fragments and shows high randomness of insertion, which makes it well suited to preparing mutant clones and to cloning circular DNA. |
