| Description | The JC-1 dye reads mitochondrial health as a colour change: at healthy membrane potentials it aggregates inside mitochondria and fluoresces red-orange, while depolarised mitochondria keep it in its green monomeric form. This kit assembles the dye stock, the accompanying buffer and a CCCP depolarisation control so the ratio of red to green signal can be interpreted with confidence. Samples as varied as cultured cells, tissue preparations and purified mitochondria are compatible, and flow cytometry provides the quantitative readout. |
