| Product Name | Micrococcal Nuclease (2000 U/uL) |
| Catalog No. | IVDRM-0487 |
| Description | Also known as Micrococcal Endonuclease, S7 Nuclease or MNase, this endonuclease from Staphylococcus aureus degrades single stranded, double stranded, linear and circular DNA or RNA at pH 7 to 10 in the presence of calcium ions, releasing mononucleotides and oligonucleotides with 3 prime phosphate ends. Its ability to digest chromatin into defined fragments makes it valuable for chromatin fragmentation in chromatin immunoprecipitation. Supplied at 2000 U/uL, the preparation is free of protease residue and carries host genomic DNA at less than 1 copy per 2000 U. |
| Intended Use | Chromatin fragmentation for chromatin immunoprecipitation and DNA substrate digestion |
| Principle / Technology | Calcium dependent endonucleolytic digestion of single and double stranded DNA or RNA, releasing 3 prime phosphate ended products |
| Sample Type | Chromatin; single and double stranded DNA or RNA |
| Reaction Conditions / Protocol | Incubate chromatin or nucleic acid substrate with the enzyme in the presence of calcium ions at pH 7 to 10, then stop the reaction |
