Product Name Microcentrifuge Tubes, 2.0 mL, Sterile
Catalog No. IGM-HMM-0049
Description Sterile 2.0 mL microcentrifuge tubes with secure snap-cap closure and frosted marking area. Gamma-irradiated for direct use in cell culture, microbiology, and sterile sample preparation workflows.
Intended Use Sterile containment of cell suspensions, bacterial cultures, sterile reagent aliquots, and clinical samples in molecular biology, microbiology, and cell biology laboratories.
Principle / Technology Larger capacity conical tube with the same footprint as 1.5 mL tubes, increasing maximum sample volume while maintaining compatibility with standard microcentrifuge rotors. Gamma sterilization provides validated SAL 10^-6 sterility assurance.
Detection Method Sterility to USP <71>/ISO 11137; centrifugation to 21,000 x g; cap seal at 95 C for 10 minutes with dye solution
Sample Type Sterile cell suspensions, bacterial inocula, filtered reagents, clinical specimens, protein purification fractions
Performance Range / Specifications Working volume 0.2-2.0 mL; maximum RCF 21,000 x g; graduation marks at 0.5, 1.0, 1.5, 2.0 mL; temperature range -80 C to 121 C (autoclavable)
Sensitivity / LOD Endotoxin <0.01 EU/mL; bioburden pre-sterilization <10 CFU/tube; nuclease free certified
Specificity No extractable PCR inhibitors; no heavy metal leachables above USP limits; no cytotoxic leachables (USP <87> negative)
Reaction Conditions / Protocol Open sterile packaging; remove tube aseptically; close cap with audible click; tube may be opened and closed multiple times while maintaining sterility.
Components / Formulation Medical-grade polypropylene (USP Class VI), gamma-sterilized, packages sealed in ISO Class 7 cleanroom
Storage Conditions 15-30 C; sterile packs remain sterile while packaging integrity is maintained
Shelf Life 60 months from sterilization date
Package Specifications 500 tubes per sterile bag, 10 bags per case; individually wrapped tubes 100 per case
Product Form 2.0 mL conical microcentrifuge tube, sterile, with attached snap-cap, clear natural color
Quality Control Sterility per batch; bioburden monitoring; centrifugation integrity; cap seal at 95 C; nuclease and endotoxin batch release
Key Features Sterile and ready-to-use; 2.0 mL capacity in standard microcentrifuge footprint; secure snap-cap; frosted writing panel; autoclavable; RNase/DNase-free
Purity Sterile (SAL 10^-6); DNase/RNase-free certified; endotoxin <0.01 EU/mL; non-cytotoxic; pyrogen-free

Source / Origin USP Class VI polypropylene; gamma sterilized at validated dose per ISO 11137; manufactured under ISO 13485
pH Range / Optimal pH Inert pH 1-14 for aqueous solutions; resistant to standard laboratory solvents including DMSO, ethanol, and acetonitrile
Shipping Conditions Ambient temperature; sterile packaging double-bagged to maintain sterility assurance
Expiration Date / Stability 5 years from sterilization date; sterility guaranteed while packaging seal intact
Regulatory / Compliance ISO 13485:2016; CE marked; ISO 11137 sterilization validation; USP <661> and <87> compliant; FDA registered
Compatibility Fits all standard microcentrifuge rotors accepting 2.0 mL tubes; compatible with heating blocks, thermomixers, ice buckets, and tube racks; safe for storage at -80 C
Recommended Buffer System Compatible with all standard buffers; resistant to guanidine-based lysis buffers, phenol-chloroform, and alcohol precipitation solutions
Application Notes / Precautions Use aseptic technique when opening sterile packaging; if tube exterior contacts non-sterile surface, discard or disinfect before use in sterile applications; pre-label tubes before filling for efficient workflow
Batch-to-Batch Consistency Tube dimension verified by automated optical comparator; gravimetric volume accuracy +/- 0.05 mL; sterility validation maintained per lot release documentation
