| Description | MAOS (N-ethyl-N-(2-hydroxy-3-sulfopropyl)-3,5-dimethylaniline sodium salt monohydrate) is a novel Trinder's reagent supplied as a white crystalline powder that is readily soluble in water. It is sensitive to light and moisture. The product is manufactured to >=99% purity with a stable process ensuring consistent appearance as pure white crystals. In the presence of hydrogen peroxide and peroxidase, MAOS undergoes oxidative coupling with 4-aminoantipyrine (4-AA) or 3-methylbenzothiazolinone-2-hydrazone (MBTH) to form stable purple or blue dyes. The molar absorptivity of dyes formed with MBTH is 1.5-2 times higher than those formed with 4-AA, though 4-AA solutions offer greater stability. MAOS is suitable for both solution-based assays and automated pipeline detection systems. |
