Description	Alta DiagnoTech luminol is 3-aminophthalhydrazide, a chemiluminescent reagent with a molecular weight of 177.16 and a molecular formula of C8H7N3O2. It dissolves readily in alkaline solution, dissolves in dilute acid, is almost insoluble in water and is sparingly soluble in alcohol. Neutral or mildly acidic solutions show strong bright-blue fluorescence under ultraviolet light.
Intended Use	Chemiluminescent reagent for chemiluminescent immunoassays, including metal-cation and blood testing.
