Product Name Low-Retention Filter Pipette Tips, 10 µL, Sterile
Catalog No. IGM-HMM-0064
Description Specialty 10 µL pipette tips manufactured from virgin polypropylene with an ultra-smooth hydrophobic surface treatment that minimizes sample binding and retention. The low-retention property is critical for handling viscous samples, detergents, and low-concentration nucleic acid or protein solutions where surface adsorption can significantly alter concentration. An integrated aerosol barrier filter prevents cross-contamination from sample aerosols reaching the pipette shaft.
Intended Use Precision liquid handling of low-volume samples where surface adsorption losses must be minimized.
Principle / Technology Hydrophobic surface treatment reducing surface energy and sample adsorption to polypropylene
Detection Method Gravimetric liquid handling accuracy verification
Sample Type PCR reaction assembly, enzyme solutions, detergent-containing buffers, nucleic acid and protein quantification samples
Performance Range / Specifications Volume range: 0.5–10 µL; retention of aqueous DNA solution: ≤1% versus ≥5% for standard tips; filter pore size: 10 µm
Sensitivity / LOD DNA recovery from 2 µL of 1 ng/µL solution: ≥99% versus approximately 90–95% with standard tips
Specificity Certified free of DNase, RNase, human DNA, and PCR inhibitors
Reaction Conditions / Protocol Attach to compatible 10 µL pipette; eject after single use; do not reuse filter tips
Components / Formulation Low-retention filter pipette tips (10 µL), racked in hinged-lid boxes of 96, pre-sterilized by gamma irradiation
Storage Conditions Room temperature, in sealed packaging
Shelf Life 36 months in unopened packaging
Package Specifications 960 tips (10 racks of 96) or 4800 tips (case of 5 × 960)
Product Form Racked tips in hinged-lid polypropylene boxes
