Product Name Lambda Exonuclease (5 U/uL)
Catalog No. IVDRM-0495
Description Derived from bacteriophage lambda, this exonuclease acts on double stranded DNA and removes 5 prime mononucleotides processively in the 5 prime to 3 prime direction. It recognises and selectively digests duplex DNA that carries a 5 prime phosphate, while single stranded DNA and DNA lacking a 5 prime phosphate are degraded only very slowly. This selectivity preserves the complementary strand and makes it straightforward to prepare high purity single stranded DNA, and it also suits pre-treatment of PCR products before cloning. Supplied at 5 U/uL, the preparation is at least 95% pure, holds endotoxin below 10 EU per mg and has very low nickase and RNase residue.
Intended Use Preparation of high purity single stranded DNA and pre-treatment of PCR products before cloning
Principle / Technology Processive 5 prime to 3 prime exonuclease digestion specific for 5 prime phosphorylated double stranded DNA
