| Product Name | HotStart Primer Binding Protein for PCR Specificity (10 ug/uL) |
| Catalog No. | IVDRM-0516 |
| Description | The active ingredient of a new hot-start strategy called primer sequestration, this protein binds primers at low temperature and keeps them separated from Taq DNA polymerase so the polymerase cannot use them. Non-specific amplification is a common problem in PCR that blurs result interpretation, lowers sensitivity and reduces target yield, and by isolating primers from the polymerase below the denaturation temperature the protein efficiently suppresses low temperature non-specific primer extension products and primer dimer formation. PCR specificity and amplification efficiency are thereby markedly improved. |
| Intended Use | Improvement of PCR specificity and amplification efficiency through primer sequestration |
| Principle / Technology | Low temperature binding of primers that isolates them from the polymerase until heat releases the inhibition |
| Sample Type | Primer and template mixes for hot-start PCR |
| Reaction Conditions / Protocol | Add to the PCR mix; the inhibition releases during the denaturation step of cycling |
| Storage Conditions | -25 to -15°C |
| Shelf Life | 2 years |
| Package Specifications | 200 ug; 1 mg |
| Key Features | Primer sequestration hot start without chemical modification of the polymerase; suppresses primer dimers |
| Purity | High purity; free of exonuclease, nickase and RNase residue |
| Concentration | 10 ug/uL |
| Readouts / Downstream Assays | PCR specificity readout by agarose gel electrophoresis |
For in vitro diagnostic use.
