| Product Name | FokI Rapid Restriction Endonuclease (5 U/uL) |
| Catalog No. | IVDRM-0419 |
| Description | Recognising 5 prime GGATG(N)9^ 3 prime, this rapid recombinant endonuclease cleaves 9 bases downstream on one strand and 13 bases on the other, outside its asymmetric recognition sequence, a distal cutting behaviour widely exploited in engineered nuclease and cloning designs. It digests plasmid DNA, PCR products and genomic DNA within 5 to 15 minutes, is supplied at 5 U/uL, and operates in the shared rapid series buffer at 37°C with heat inactivation at 80°C for 20 minutes. Dam, CpG and EcoBI methylation block cleavage at overlapping sites while Dcm and EcoKI methylation are tolerated, and BstF5I, BtsCI and BseGI are documented isoschizomers. |
| Intended Use | DNA fragment preparation and genome engineering workflows leveraging distal cleavage outside the recognition site |
| Principle / Technology | Asymmetric cleavage 9 and 13 bases outside 5 prime GGATG 3 prime within 5 to 15 minutes at 37°C |
