| Product Name | Extreme Thermostable Single-Strand DNA Binding Protein, ET SSB (0.5 mg/mL) |
| Catalog No. | IVDRM-0512 |
| Description | A sequence-independent single-stranded DNA binding protein from an extreme thermophile that binds ssDNA but not RNA or double stranded DNA. It coats the single-stranded regions generated as helicases and polymerases progress, preventing the newly formed single strands from re-pairing or from being digested by nucleases, and upon binding it destabilises secondary structure so that DNA polymerases reach their substrate more easily. This raises polymerase catalytic activity and improves amplification efficiency in PCR on complex templates, and it also stabilises single stranded DNA in high temperature sequencing reactions. The protein keeps its full activity after 60 minutes at 95°C, works in most polymerase buffers and is free of exonuclease, nickase and RNase residue. |
