Product Name Exonuclease I for Primer Removal and Enzymatic PCR Cleanup (20 U/uL)
Catalog No. IVDRM-0448
Description Recombinantly expressed from the Escherichia coli Exo I gene, this exonuclease hydrolyses single stranded DNA in the 3 prime to 5 prime direction, stepwise releasing 5 prime monophosphate deoxyribonucleotides and leaving an intact 5 prime terminal dinucleotide. It is highly selective for denatured or single stranded DNA and shows no activity on double stranded DNA, RNA, or strands whose 3 prime hydroxyl is blocked by phosphoryl or acetyl groups. Routine uses include degrading primers after PCR amplification, removing single stranded primers before Sanger sequencing or SNP analysis, cleaning up nested PCR reactions, enzymatic purification of PCR products and stripping 3 prime hydroxyl single stranded DNA from nucleic acid mixtures.
Intended Use Primer degradation after PCR, cleanup before Sanger sequencing and SNP analysis, nested PCR cleanup and enzymatic PCR purification
Principle / Technology 3 prime to 5 prime exonucleolytic digestion of single stranded DNA
