| Product Name | Endonuclease V for DNA Repair Research (10 U/uL) |
| Catalog No. | IVDRM-0569 |
| Description | Encoded by the Endo V gene of E. coli, Endonuclease V is a repair enzyme that recognises deoxyinosine in DNA, the deamination product of deoxyadenosine. Also called deoxyinosine 3 prime endonuclease, it cuts the second phosphodiester bond on the 3 prime side of mismatched deoxyinosine to leave a nick carrying a 3 prime hydroxyl and a 5 prime phosphate. The enzyme recognises deoxyinosine whether paired or not in both double and single stranded DNA, and it also recognises DNA containing AP sites, urea residues, base mismatches, insertion and deletion mismatches, hairpins, unpaired loops, folded flaps and Y-shaped structures. In DNA repair the enzyme acts alongside other proteins because it cannot itself remove deoxyinosine or damaged bases from the DNA. |
