| Product Name | CpG-Specific Carboxymethyltransferase (CxMTase) for Direct Methylation Sequencing |
| Catalog No. | IVDRM-0341 |
| Description | Engineered from the M.MpeI methyltransferase gene of Mycoplasma penetrans and expressed recombinantly, this enzyme accepts both the natural cofactor S-adenosyl-L-methionine and the synthetic analogue carboxy-S-adenosyl-L-methionine. It modifies cytosines at CpG sites to 5-methylcytosine or 5-carboxymethylcytosine, the latter blocking deamination by APOBEC3A. Combined with APOBEC3A treatment, it enables direct methylation sequencing without bisulfite conversion. |
| Intended Use | Direct methylation sequencing (DM-seq) together with APOBEC3A; methylation-sensitive restriction analysis of CpG sites with enzymes such as HpaII; DNA methylation detection and epigenetics research. |
| Detection Method | CpG methylation status in DNA templates |
| Specificity | CpG-site specific recognition; no residual exonuclease or nickase activity detected |
| Storage Conditions | -25 °C to -15 °C |
| Shelf Life | 12 months |
