| Product Name | Antarctic Phosphatase, Heat-Labile Alkaline Phosphatase (5 U/uL) |
| Catalog No. | IVDRM-0578 |
| Description | A recombinant heat-labile alkaline phosphatase from an Antarctic bacterium that occurs as both homodimer and monomer, Antarctic Phosphatase removes 5 prime and 3 prime phosphate monoesters from DNA, RNA and proteins non-specifically and also hydrolyses ribonucleoside and deoxyribonucleoside triphosphates. It acts on 5 prime and 3 prime overhangs and on blunt ends and stays active in a range of restriction and PCR buffers. Because 5 minutes at 75°C inactivates it completely and irreversibly, no removal step is needed before ligation or end labelling. Beyond nucleic acid work the enzyme also dephosphorylates serine, threonine and tyrosine residues on proteins. |
| Intended Use | Vector dephosphorylation to lower self-ligation, nucleic acid end processing and protein dephosphorylation |
| Principle / Technology | Non-specific hydrolysis of 5 prime and 3 prime phosphate monoesters on DNA, RNA, proteins, NTPs and dNTPs |
