| Product Name | alpha-N-Acetylgalactosaminidase |
| Catalog No. | IVDRM-0310 |
| Description | alpha-N-Acetylgalactosaminidase is a highly specific exo-glycosidase produced by recombinant expression in E. coli from a gene derived from Chryseobacterium meningosepticum. It catalyses hydrolysis of D-N-acetylgalactosamine residues from oligosaccharides and from Nalpha-linked glycans on glycoproteins. Enzymatic activity is enhanced in the presence of albumin, so the pack includes an albumin supplement formulated in a low-glycerol buffer to support robust digestion kinetics. |
| Intended Use | Removal of alpha-N-acetylgalactosamine residues from glycoproteins and oligosaccharides in glycoprotein research and deglycosylation workflows. |
| Principle / Technology | The exo-glycosidase cleaves terminal alpha-linked N-acetylgalactosamine from oligosaccharide chains and from Nalpha-linked glycan structures, and its activity is stimulated by albumin. |
| Detection Method | Terminal alpha-linked D-N-acetylgalactosamine residues |
| Sample Type | Glycoproteins and oligosaccharides |
| Performance Range / Specifications | Supplied at 20 U per uL with purity above 90 percent by SDS-PAGE; activity is enhanced in the presence of albumin, which is provided as a pack component. |
| Specificity | Specific for terminal alpha-linked D-N-acetylgalactosamine on oligosaccharides and Nalpha-linked glycan structures. |
| Reaction Conditions / Protocol | Incubate the glycoprotein substrate with the enzyme in the supplied 10x reaction buffer together with the albumin supplement at 37°C until terminal N-acetylgalactosamine residues are released. |
| Components / Formulation | alpha-N-Acetylgalactosaminidase at 20 U per uL; 10x reaction buffer; albumin supplement in a low-glycerol formulation. Volumes scale with the selected pack size. |
| Storage Conditions | -25 to -15°C |
| Shelf Life | 24 months |
| Package Specifications | 3000 U packs including matched reaction buffer and albumin supplement |
| Product Form | Liquid enzyme supplied with reaction buffer and albumin supplement |
| Quality Control | Purity verified by SDS-PAGE (greater than 90 percent); activity confirmed against an alpha-N-acetylgalactosamine substrate for every lot. |
| Key Features | Albumin-stimulated activity; recombinant production in E. coli for reproducible digestion performance. |
| Purity | >90% (SDS-PAGE) |
| Concentration | 20 U/uL |
| Activity / Unit Definition | quoted as units measured against alpha-N-acetylgalactosamine substrates. |
| Source / Origin | Recombinant expression in E. coli; gene from Chryseobacterium meningosepticum |
| pH Range / Optimal pH | 7.5 (storage buffer) |
| Shipping Conditions | Cold pack |
| Expiration Date / Stability | Stable for the full shelf life when held at the recommended storage temperature. |
| Regulatory / Compliance | For research and diagnostic reagent use; manufactured under controlled conditions with lot-specific release testing. |
| Compatibility | Albumin supplement is supplied in a low-glycerol formulation compatible with downstream analytical workflows. |
| Recommended Buffer System | 20 mM Tris-HCl, 50 mM NaCl, 1 mM EDTA, pH 7.5 |
| Application Notes / Precautions | Use the supplied albumin supplement to reach full activity; confirm the substrate presents terminal alpha-linked residues. |
| Batch-to-Batch Consistency | Each lot is released with activity and purity documentation; lot number is printed on the vial label. |
| Delivery Standard | Cold pack dispatch by default |
| Turnaround Time | Standard dispatch |
| Readouts / Downstream Assays | SDS-PAGE, deglycosylation monitoring, glycan profiling |
