Product Name 5-9 µm Flow-Cytometry Absolute Counting Microspheres at 1×10^6 Beads/mL
Catalog No. IGM-HMM-0261
Description Alta DiagnoTech absolute-counting microspheres are calibrated polystyrene bead suspensions for determining cell concentration by flow cytometry. Undyed beads are identified by scatter, while internally dyed variants provide signals in common fluorescence channels and rainbow beads support multicolor workflows.
Intended Use Absolute counting of cells in flow-cytometry samples.
Principle / Technology Cell concentration is calculated from the measured ratio of a known concentration of counting beads to the target cell population.
Detection Method Flow cytometry; bead concentration is assigned using an electrical-resistance particle counter
Performance Range / Specifications General particle range 3.0-9.0 µm; listed bead sizes 5.0, 7.0 and 9.0 µm; concentration 1×10^6 beads/mL; density 1.05 g/cm³; refractive index 1.59 at 589 nm; particle-size and fluorescence-intensity distributions have CV <5%.
Specificity Undyed beads are separated by scatter; fluorescent variants are distinguishable in FITC, PE, APC, Cy7 or multiple common channels, depending on the version.
