Description The Alta DiagnoTech size-exclusion media are hydrophilic porous agarose beads prepared by emulsification, crosslinking and size classification. Two agarose concentrations provide different exclusion behavior for large biological samples while supporting fast flow and straightforward scale-up.
Intended Use Size-based separation of viruses, proteins, polysaccharides and nucleic acids, including impurity removal, desalting and buffer exchange.
Principle / Technology Size-exclusion chromatography, also known as gel filtration.
Performance Range / Specifications 4% agarose: approximate exclusion limits of 6,000 kDa for linear molecules and 30,000 kDa for globular molecules, 90 cm/h operating flow and 150 cm/h maximum flow. 6% agarose: approximate exclusion limits of 2,000 kDa for linear molecules and 4,000 kDa for globular molecules, 110 cm/h operating flow and 200 cm/h maximum flow. Both use 45-165 µm particles with a 90 µm average size.
Storage Conditions 20% ethanol at room temperature
