| Description | The PST plasma separation tube is a new type of blood collection container offering speed, efficiency and stability. After centrifugation, the tube presents a three-layer structure consisting of blood cells, the separation gel barrier and plasma. Heparin sodium, heparin lithium and the serum separation gel act as additives in the PST tube, and their unique physicochemical properties optimize blood sample collection and processing. Heparin sodium and heparin lithium primarily serve an anticoagulant function: heparin is a highly efficient anticoagulant that inhibits thrombin in the blood and prevents clotting, keeping the blood sample in a liquid state for an extended period and facilitating subsequent testing and analysis. During centrifugation, the serum separation gel forms a clear barrier interface that completely separates plasma from blood cells. This separation improves plasma purity and supports more accurate diagnostic results. The separation gel and the heparin additives also protect the blood sample by limiting its contact with air and reducing the influence of the external environment. In addition, they slow the inactivation of enzymes in the blood, extending the valid life of the sample and improving its quality.
