Product Name Recombinant Glutathione S-Transferase GST Enzyme Liver Injury Marker 10 mg
Catalog No. IEC-HMM-0269
Description This recombinant glutathione S-transferase (GST) is supplied as a white freeze-dried powder or liquid solution. GST is a family of detoxification enzymes that catalyze the conjugation of glutathione to electrophilic substrates, playing a critical role in cellular defense against oxidative stress and xenobiotic toxicity. The enzyme has an apparent molecular weight of approximately 26 kDa as determined by SDS-PAGE. It is formulated in PBS buffer at pH 7.0 and supplied in 10 mg aliquots. GST is widely used as a fusion tag in protein expression systems and serves as a biomarker for liver injury, as hepatic damage leads to significant release of GST into the bloodstream.
Intended Use For research use only in liver injury diagnostic research, detoxification enzyme studies, and GST fusion protein applications. Not for use in human experiments.
Principle / Technology Glutathione conjugation: GST catalyzes the nucleophilic attack of glutathione thiol groups on electrophilic substrates, facilitating their detoxification and elimination.
Detection Method Enzymatic activity assay measuring glutathione conjugation activity
