| Product Name | Lipolysis Assay Reagent |
| Catalog No. | CMTR-HMM-0035 |
| Description | Lipolysis is the process of hydrolysis of triglycerides in cells into glycerol and free fatty acids. Glycerol and free fatty acids are then released into the blood or culture medium. Lipolysis occurs in almost all cells, but is most abundant in white and brown adipose tissue. Impaired lipolysis leads to increased intracellular lipid accumulation, resulting in cellular physiological abnormalities, hyperlipidemia, and insulin resistance. |
| Application | This product is used to determine glycerol released by 3T3-L1 cells after lipolysis induction. |
| Assay Type | Quantitative |
| Detection Method | Colorimetric |
| Applicable Instruments | Microplate reader |
| Detection Time | 40 min |
| Sample Type | Cell culture supernatant |
| Detection Limit | 0.2 nmol/well |
| Standard Linear Range | 2 nmol/well - 10 nmol/well |
| Procedure | 1. Add the sample and standard to the wells. 2. Add the reaction mixture and incubate at 37°C for 30 minutes. 3. Analyze using a microplate reader. |
